Hoover Angus purchases the co-top selling bull of the 2016 SydGen Sale, SydGen Sizzle at $30,000!
Sizzle offers an outcross pedigree to the vast majority of the Angus breed today while boasting a superior set of EPDs and phenotype. He ranks in the best 10% of the breed for CED to the top 1% for $Beef! Many heifers and cows will be bred to Sizzle during our spring 2016 breeding season.

Congratulations to Hoover Dam for his fourth consecutive year of being in the top 10 bulls of the Angus breed for progeny registrations! The fiscal year of the American Angus Association ended September 30, 2015, and Hoover Dam landed in the 8th top spot in the breed with just shy of 3000 progeny registered during the year.

HOOVER HAWKEYE SUCCESS
Hoover Hawkeye was purchased in the 2014 Hoover Angus Sale by Three Trees Ranch, one of the world's most progressive, data-driven seedstock operations. Genomic data on 48 Hawkeye calves at Three Trees Ranch came back recently and the results are as follows on the genomic-enhanced EPDs of the entire sire group of Hawkeye progeny:

-WW EPD top 3%
-YW EPD top 1-2%
-Marb EPD top 15-20%
-RE EPD top 1-2%

Basin Excitement passed away July 13, 2015 at Genex in Missouri. Excitement has led the pack of calving ease bulls at Hoover Angus for many years, and his daughters have become excellent females. Excitement will leave a positive, lasting impression in the Hoover cow herd. Few bulls in the breed could combine the calving ease, growth and muscle the way Excitement did. Semen is now $25/unit and finite in supply. Four Hoover-bred Excitement sons reside in bull studs: Hoover Homestead (ORIgen), Hoover Elation M123 (Select Sires), Hoover Hercules (Alta Genetics) and Hoover Explorer (Alta Genetics). Look for these sons to carry on the Excitement tradition!

For the fourth consecutive year, Hoover Dam leads off the 2015 ORIgen Sire Directory! For the past three years, Hoover Dam has been among the top 10 bulls of the Angus breed for registrations. He is only one of four bulls in the breed that have been on the "Top 10" list each of the past three years, and the ONLY bull of these four bred in a herd that registers less than 1000 head per year.
