Homestead is moderate, easy fleshing, deep bodied, and stout. With a 15.5" ribeye, he was the biggest scanning ribeye bull of his crop!
Homestead was selected by Brice Conover in our 2014 auction. Brice states, "He is creating lots of interest from the visitors at ORIgen. I believe he is the best bull Hoovers have raised! He offers great thickness, correctness, and phenotype with really good numbers."
Dam J407 is a moderate sized, super deep ribbed cow that had the broody look of a cow at just a year of age. She records 4-96 BWR, 4-104 WR, 3-102 YR, and has a 366 day calving interval. She is definitely one of the best looking young cows of the herd! J407 was the 4th top weaning weight heifer of her crop at 731 pounds. She had a great individual scan: IMF 5.70, ratio 120, ribeye 11.4", ratio 104.
Maternal grandsire G Force is a full brother to Hoover Headliner J32. G Force was the 5th top weaning weight bull calf of his crop at 810 pounds, and rivaled Hoover Dam as the best bull of our 2008 calf crop. G Force scanned a 15.9" ribeye. His dam, C109, has been one of the top cows ever raised at Hoover Angus. She has brought 7 sons to auction averaging $10,800. She is a small cow that weans a huge percentage of her body weight. C109 records 10-97 BWR and 10-109 WR with a 361 day calving interval (that includes stealing flushes three different years)!
Pathfinder grandam D471 earns her keep in the herd. She records 9-108 WR and has one Pathfinder daughter.
Save every daughter this bull makes. Daughters should be nice uddered, easy fleshing, and not too big!
Semen is available through ORIgen at $25/unit, $35/certificate.
