October 22, 2019 Hoover Angus Online Sale
Thank you to the bidders and buyers in our October 22 online sale! We very much appreciate everyone who looked at our offering. Wall Street Cattle Co. took home No Doubt’s full sister for $27,500 and GMC Genetics selected the Pick of the Fall Heifers for $13,000.
Repeat customers took home the other two live lots: Nathan Palm selected the high $C Lot 5 for $8250 and West Angus selected Lot 6 for $5250.
Topping the embryo division were the No Doubt X Erica of Ellston M38 embryos (Lot 2A) selling to repeat customers Macholan Angus in Nebraska for $1650/embryo. The flush out of Lot 2B was selected by repeat customer Chance Benoit for $1600/embryo.
Lot 7 and 3 embryos sold to 2S Angus Land & Cattle Co. for $1150 and $600/embryo, respectively; Lot 8 embryos sold to Andy Huffington for $950/embryo, and Lot 4 embryos sold to Jason Neidig for $850/embryo.

The 91st Anniversary Hoover Angus Sale was held Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in Creston, IA. 171 lots grossed $908,000 to average $5310. Cattle sold to 15 states and Canada.
Ninety-six bulls averaged $6790. Sixty-six yearling bulls averaged $6488 and 29 fall bulls averaged $6781, and one herd bull brought $27,000. The highlight of the bull sale was 5 Hoover No Doubt sons averaging $20,900 and 29 Baldridge 38 Special sons averaging $8620.
Forty-two spring bred heifers averaged $3021 and 22 fall bred heifers averaged $2854. Ten open heifers averaged $4240, and one flush opportunity sold for $24,000.
Top bull: Lot 83, Hoover Notary (formerly named Hoover No Doubt S427), sold 2/3 interest for $38,000 to IMS Cattle, Gibson City, IL; Golden Chute Ranch, Walker, IA; and Tim Hackett Farms, Cuba, IL. He is an 8-18-17 son of Hoover No Doubt with semen available.
Second top bull: Lot 19, Hoover 38 Special T31, sold 2/3 interest for $30,000 to Mogck & Sons Angus, Olivet, SD. He is a 1-11-18 son of Baldridge 38 Special.
Third top bull: Lot 71, Hoover Silverado S259 (formerly named Hoover No Doubt S259), sold 2/3 interest for $27,000 to CRV-USA, Madison, WI. He is a 2-27-17 son of Hoover No Doubt.
Fourth top bull: Lot 1, Hoover Longevity T40 (formerly named Hoover No Doubt T40), sold 2/3 interest for $26,000 to Mohnen Angus, White Lake, SD. He is a 1-15-18 son of Hoover No Doubt.
Fifth top bull: Lot 34, Hoover 38 Special T215, sold 2/3 interest for $26,000 to Glen Hanson, Greenfield, IA. He is a 2-21-18 son of Baldridge 38 Special.
Sixth top bull: Lot 7, Hoover 44 Mag (formerly named Hoover 38 Special T28), sold 2/3 interest for $24,000 to Alta Genetics, Rocky View County, Alberta, and Diamond J Angus Ranch, Mandan, ND. He is a 1-10-18 son of Baldridge 38 Special.
Seventh top bull: Lot 24, Hoover Leadman T38, sold 2/3 interest for $17,000 to Deep Creek Angus Ranch, Midland, SD and Miller Angus, Draper, SD. He is a 1-15-18 son of Hoover Leadman.
Eighth top bull: Lot 15, Hoover All American (formerly named Hoover Top Cut T1), sold 2/3 interest for $13,500 to Slovek Ranch, Philip, SD. He is a 12-13-17 son of Bruns Top Cut 373.
Ninth top bull: Lot 20, Hoover Top Cut T205, sold 2/3 interest for $11,500 to Diamond J Angus Ranch, Mandan, ND. He is a 2-19-18 son of Bruns Top Cut 373.
Tenth top bull: Lot 69, Hoover Gatlin (formerly named Hoover 38 Special T33), sold 2/3 interest for $11,000 to Alta Genetics, Rocky View County, Alberta. He is a 1-11-18 son of Baldridge 38 Special.
A flush opportunity from a full sister to Hoover No Doubt, Miss Blackcap Ellston N58, sold for $24,000 to Lylester Ranch, Martel, NE.
Top open heifer: Lot 181, Blueblood Lady Ellston T74, sold to Eagle Grip Cattle Co., Denair, CA and Abernathy Ranches, Lander, WY for $12,500. She is a 2-1-18 daughter of Hoover No Doubt.
Lot 187, Erica of Ellston T78, sold to MB Genetics, Alexandria, SD for $12,500. She is a 2-2-18 daughter of Baldridge 38 Special.
