$2500 to be Awarded by Hoover Angus in the 7th Annual Homemade Ice Cream Contest!
Hoover Angus will once again sponsor the Homemade Ice Cream Contest at the Tingley Memorial Park on August 30, this year with $2500 in total prize money! The top 10 “Anything Goes” ice creams will receive a payout (1st place $500), along with the top 5 Vanilla ice cream winners (1st place $250)! Everyone is welcome to attend the ice cream making workshop put on by Tony Mercer on July 12! The National Stockdog Finals will be held at Hoover Angus OctoBer 15-18, 2026!
Top stock dog handlers from across the country will utilize their professionally trained stock dog to work Hoover Angus heifers through an obstacle course. Stay tuned to the News page here at Hoover Angus for more information in September.
Honors at Midland!
A second Hoover Angus female has now had the honor of producing the top-selling bull at the prestigious Midland Bull Test! Several years ago, 11 year-old Miss Blackcap Ellston J2 (also the mother of Hoover No Doubt), produced the $158,000 Sterling Bond 007 selected by ST Genetics. The 2026 Midland Bull Test Sale was topped by 7 Oaks Crosswind N513, a son of Erica of Ellston T220! Congrats to 7 Oaks Angus and KDS Angus for producing this outstanding bull! The buyers were Sunny Okanogan Angus Ranch and Levi & Kristine Maltby.
