Hoover Cyclone was the $31,000 top-selling bull in our 2016 auction to Alta Genetics and Diamond J Angus. He was the 5th top weaning weight bull of the crop at 864 pounds, WR 113. He went on to post a 1477 pound yearling weight, YR 111 and a 3.72 IMF, ratio 115, 15.0” ribeye, ratio 99. Cyclone is an eye appealing, classic Hawkeye son with a lot of rear quarter, muscle, and good feet. By his pedigree and individual disposition, we would expect Cyclone to improve dispositions. He offers an outcross pedigree for a vast majority of today’s Angus breed.
Stephanie Hatzenbuhler of Diamond J Angus says this about Cyclone in the fall of 2016 after using him for natural service as a yearling, “The most improved bull from this summer is Hoover Cyclone! He looks like a two year old. He is still cleaning up heifers until he goes to Alta. He's filling out real nice and has perfect feet and phenotype. He caught up to the older yearlings, which is impressive considering most bulls lose condition over the summer. He's going to see more heifers next year!”
Cyclone’s Pathfinder dam is a superior disposition female, which is telling of her Docility EPD above the top 1% of the breed. She is an extremely laid back cow. Her first son was the 7th top-selling bull in our 2015 auction at $14,500 to Clay Howerton. This Hoover Dam son weaned at 807 pounds. L168 records 4-98 BWR, 4-107 WR and 3-104 YR.
Pathfinder grandam J46 has been a superior cow that has brought 10 progeny to auction averaging over $10,000! She is one of the few cows in the herd to have grossed over $100,000 on registered progeny sales. One son was the 3rd top-selling bull of our 2015 auction at $21,000. J46 is a working donor who we have stolen flushes two separate years, yet she maintains an excellent 357 day calving interval on her 7 natural progeny. She records 7-98 BWR, 7-106 WR, and 6-102 YR. J46 was the #1 adjusted weaning weight heifer of her crop at 790 lbs., WR 129.
Great grandam G205 served as a Pathfinder in the Hoover herd.
Semen available through Alta Genetics for $25/unit, $33/Certificate.
