Native was selected as a calving ease, superior disposition, foot-improving sire. He is a more moderate-sized bull brought to Hoover Angus to use on some of our larger framed females. His confirmation will produce problem-free cattle that have a desirable phenotype for maintaining and even improving longevity in a cow herd. He stacks the functional traits with rancher-friendly eye appeal and kind.
Native is an easy fleshing bull that quickly figured out pen breeding duties at Hoover Angus before naturally servicing cows in a pasture of our young cows as a yearling. His dam was viewed prior to the LT sale, and she is a nice uddered, easy fleshing cow raising another nice calf. She is the 6th generation Forever Lady female to be curated in Brent Thiel’s maternal and commercial cattlemen-focused herd. Native’s granddam is 10 years old and recently weaned her 8th calf with near perfect foot quality and udder scores to match.
Native was born at 74 pounds, weaned at 753 pounds, and YW 1361 pounds. He had an ideal 38 cm scrotal and scanned a 3.67 IMF, ratio 105 and a 15.2” ribeye to have 1.17” of ribeye per hundred pounds of body weight.
