Longevity was the Lot 1, lead-off bull in our 2019 auction, where he
sold to Mohnen Angus for $26,000.
Longevity was the #1
adjusted weaning weight bull of the crop with his 911 pound weaning
weight! He was the #1 yearling weight bull of the crop at 1546
pounds, YR 117 and an upper 6 frame. He had a 42 cm scrotal, a 5.59
IMF, ratio 154, ribeye 16.2”, ratio 113. He froze semen as a
yearling bull.
Longevity is square, correct, has superior
thickness and a great scrotal. He is wide based, good footed, and
has lots of body. He is a proud bull – he was the best in his
crop and he knew it!
Pathfinder donor dam and Pathfinder
donor grandam are two of my all-time favorite cows. We have flushed
this mother-daughter pair on several occasions, and they have
produced some of our best bulls in the past decade. Dam H115 and
grandam C50 are the only mother-daughter pair in
the herd where both cows have achieved Pathfinder status, and both
cows have grossed over $100,000 in registered progeny
sales!
H115 records 11-98 BWR, 11-109 WR, 10-106
YR, 18-102 IMF ratio and 18-102 ribeye ratio! H115 has been flushed
four times, and still maintains an exceptional 361 day calving
interval on 11 natural calves! Likewise, we have stolen 6 flushes on
her dam C50 and she had a 363 day calving interval on 13 progeny
prior to taking her out of production at 15 years of age to flush
for one year! The fertility in this cow family is second-to-none!
H115’s 11 sons to come to auction have averaged $10,175, and
her two daughters $6500. H115’s first son was the 2nd top
weaning weight bull of his crop, a photo feature in our sale, and
works for repeat customer Kirk Egbert in Idaho. Her next son was the
11th top weaning weight, 4th top yearling weight bull of his crop
and works for repeat customer Dan Olson. Next, H115’s son rang
the bell as the #1 adjusted weaning weight bull of his crop and
works for repeat customer Jeff Bellamy. The record continues, as her
next son, Hoover Explorer was the 4th top-selling bull in our 2015
auction selling to Alta Genetics and Diamond J Angus in North
Dakota. H115’s six natural sons to come to auction have
averaged an 827 pound weaning weight!
Pathfinder grandam
C50 has perfected perfection! She was laid to rest at nearly 17
years of age. Two of her daughters have achieved Pathfinder status.
Her 31 progeny to come to auction have averaged $7150! These progeny
work in 8 states plus Canada. C50 records 14-100 BWR, 14-106 WR, and
11-103 YR. She was our oldest cow listed in the 2019 Pathfinder
Report! C50’s son in our 2019 sale was one of the top selling
bulls at $24,000 to Alta Genetics and Diamond J Angus.
Semen
is available on Longevity through his owners at $20/unit and
$40/certificate.
