Hoover Angus Farm 80th Anniversary Production Sale Report |
Despite the snow storm, Hoover Angus Farm’s 18th Annual, 80th Anniversary Sale was held Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Creston Livestock Auction in Creston, IA. Cattle sold to six states and many repeat buyers turned out to purchase cattle. Each buyer listed in this report is a repeat Hoover customer. 105 bulls averaged $2863. 22 two year-old bulls averaged $2977, 20 fall bulls averaged $2950, and 63 yearling bulls averaged $2796. 12 open heifers averaged $1708, 56 spring bred heifers averaged $1882, and 16 fall bred heifers averaged $1444. Top bulls: Lot 1, H&K Acceleration F24, sold for $10,000 to Hawleys Gen X Angus of Arcadia, NE, Glen Hawley of North Loup, NE and Palmer Angus of Wellman, IA for 2/3 interest. He is a 1-29-07 son of TC Gridiron 258. Lot 37, H&K Intensity F250, sold for $10,000 to Glen Hanson of Greenfield, IA for 2/3 interest. He is a 2-28-07 son of TC Gridiron 258. Third top bull: Lot 71, H&K New Intrigue E108, sold for $6,000 to Thomas Doud of Stuart, IA for 2/3 interest. He is a 2-16-06 son of SAV New Design 3105. Fourth top bull: Lot 7, H&K All Around F32, sold for $5250 to Chateau Enterprises and Husz Brothers of Carson, IA for 2/3 interest. He is a 1-30-07 son of SAV New Design 3105. Top bred heifer: Lot 109, Erica of Ellston E9, sold for $4250 to Dr. Martin Nold of Gettysburg, SD. She is a 1-19-06 daughter of SA Neutron 377 bred to SydGen C C & 7.
